Hey friend,
Iβm Gretchen Saffles.
I wear a lot of hats.
Iβm a dreamerβfilling journals, notepads, and random scraps of paper with musings and ideas.
Iβm an authorβmy first book, The Well-Watered Woman: Rooted in Truth, Growing in Grace, Flourishing in Faith, is my anthem. I believe the Word of God never changes, yet always changes us, and Iβll herald this truth all my life.
Iβm a mom to threeβchief chauffeur, cookie connoisseur, expert cuddler and boo-boo kisser, and little disciple-maker.
Iβm an artistβforever learning from the Great Artist as I create beauty in my home, writing, and painting.
Most importantly, Iβm a follower and friend of Jesus. I pray this little corner of the internet stirs your affection for him!
My Story
If you were to trace my story and connect the dots from where Iβve been and what Iβve done, youβd never guess Iβd end up where I am today. God is like thatβalways surprising us with better plans. My resume includes a hodgepodge of ventures: personal styling, greeting card artist, jewelry design, student and womenβs ministry, speaking.
In 2013, as a newlywed with little money and big dreams, I began an Etsy shop called Life Lived Beautifully, where I dabbled in all of the above. God transformed the vision for this shop, and a year later, I began selling a Bible study journal called The Give Me Jesus Journal. Life Lived Beautifully became Well-Watered Women, and ever since Iβve spent my days writing Bible studies and dreaming up new tools to help women study Godβs Word!
On any given day, you can find me brainstorming new ideas between laundry and meal prep with a toddler on my hip. God has graciously allowed me to write several books, including The Well-Watered Woman: Rooted in Truth, Growing in Grace, Flourishing in Faith, The Well-Watered Life Journal, and Word before World: 100 Devotions to Put Jesus First. Iβm passionate about connecting the truth of Godβs Word with the daily mundane and inner wrestlings of the soul. My greatest desire is that if you follow me on Instagram or read my work, youβll see glimpses of Godβs grace and follow Christ with a deeper love, devotion, and affection.

We keep these conversation cards on our dinner table at all times. When we sit down for a meal, the boys choose one for each family member to answer. We all love them!
Iβve used this body butter consistently for four years and still love it! Every evening before bed I lather my hands and arms with it and take a moment to enjoy the scent!
Itβs safe to say that I use this hair clip every day. I used to break claw clips constantly, but can honestly say this one lives up to its claim of being unbreakable!
At the start of the year, I joined Hannah Brencherβs 1,000 hours unplugged challenge. I keep this printable on my fridge and add the hours I was phone-free to it each day. I love the accountability!
This dry erase calendar also hangs on my fridge and helps me keep track of all our family activities each month! Itβs right above where we refill our waters and has been a helpful tool for me to keep track of schedules. Pro tip: use wet erase markers!
